SOD capsules provide 300 IU of the superoxide dismutase (SOD) enzyme from Extramel®, a vegan-friendly melon extract.
SOD by Seeking Health is a superoxide dismutase supplement. It provides a unique vegan source of superoxide dismutase (SOD) called Extramel®, derived from cantaloupe melon juice concentrate.
This naturally occurring SOD supports healthy antioxidant activity in the body. Present both inside and outside of cells, SOD supports healthy aging processes, skin, eyes, cognition, and healthy inflammation responses.
SOD is found naturally in the body. It supports healthy cell defenses by supporting your body's natural ability to eliminate bacteria and other invaders. The body produces superoxide during pathogenic exposure, such as bacterial illness. Superoxides are damaging compounds that can cause premature aging and inflammation. Superoxides are also present during UV damage to the skin.
Your superoxide dismutase (SOD) enzymes are responsible for turning superoxide into hydrogen peroxide so it can be further broken down into water. However, genetic variations in your SOD gene may lead to lower levels of SOD enzyme activity. This can result in elevated levels of damaging free radicals.
Free radicals and other reactive compounds are produced from normal metabolism and in response to daily environmental exposures.
