The Roadmap Series IV: Mapping Sleep & Insomnia

Sleep is linked to nearly every bodily function; from dealing with an infection to how we think. Getting a good night’s sleep is vital for optimal health.

1 in 7 people in the UK survive on dangerously low levels of sleep a night - under five hours. Even more concerning, nearly three-quarters (71%) of UK adults do not get the recommended seven to nine hours of sleep a night.

Poor sleep is closely linked with conditions such as cardiac problems, dementia, diabetes, weight gain, low mood, anxiety, and depression. Many factors can contribute to poor sleep patterns including; stress, poor blood sugar balance, sleep apnoea, pain and changing life stages - especially perimenopause.

During this Roadmap, Tanya discussed these most common causes and provided techniques and a functional roadmap on how to identify them - providing integrative solutions for achieving better quality sleep with your clients.
